A record 1,355 players have registered for the IPL 2026 mini-auction, scheduled for December 16 in Abu Dhabi, after the registration window closed on November 30. As per ESPNcricinfo and Cricbuzz, Cameron Green is among the biggest names in the fray, easing franchise concerns over his tight schedule.
The Australian all-rounder, who missed the last mega auction due to injury, is one of 43 overseas players listed in the highest base price category of ₹2 crore. Former Australia captain Steve Smith, unsold since 2022, has also registered. Josh Inglis has entered the auction despite Punjab Kings releasing him over availability issues; reports say he will be available for only 25% of the season due to his wedding.
