Nagpur will host the Perception Expo 2025 from December 6 to 9 at the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Civil Lines. Organized by the Gayatri Mahila Industrial Cooperative Society and MSME DFO Nagpur, the expo aims to showcase the businesses, arts, and skills of women entrepreneurs on a single platform, said Society President Kanchantai Gadkari.
Event Highlights:
- Inauguration: December 6 at 4:30 pm by MSME DFO Director V.R. Shirsat, with Smt. Aastha Karlekar as chief guest.
- Performances:
- December 7 – Avanti Kate presents Bharat Mata
- December 8 – Dr. Sangita Banait and team present Abhangwari
- Expo Features: Stalls displaying handicrafts, jewellery, household items, traditional ornaments, decorative materials, and more.
Boosting Women Entrepreneurs:
The expo offers a significant opportunity for local women to expand their businesses. The Gayatri Mahila Industrial Cooperative Society, founded in 1996, supports women through weekly markets, exhibitions, workshops, and financial guidance via MSME.
Impact and Initiatives:
- Employs 150–500 women regularly
- Turnover of ₹34 lakh in 2024-25, with ₹24 lakh sales already this year
- Produced 80,000 masks during COVID-19, and promotes Plastic-Free India with paper, cloth, jute, and canvas bags
- Adds around 200 new women entrepreneurs annually
The event continues the organisation’s seven-year tradition of providing a dedicated marketplace for emerging women entrepreneurs.
