IndiGo is gradually restoring its network after days of major disruption, during which over 2,000 flights were cancelled daily due to staff shortages and new crew duty rules. Passengers at key airports like Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata continue to face delays and higher fares, while the DGCA has summoned IndiGo’s top management over the crisis.
Why Flights Were Cancelled
The airline has been struggling to manage schedules after revised Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules reduced the number of hours pilots and crew can work. This increased crew requirements and led to widespread cancellations.
How to Check Your Flight Status
- Visit IndiGo’s website/app → “Manage Booking” → Enter PNR.
- Choose between a full refund or free rebooking.
- Refunds for online payments take 5–7 working days; cash bookings must be claimed at airport counters.
DGCA’s Temporary Relief
To help stabilise operations, the DGCA has granted IndiGo a one-time exemption from certain night-duty restrictions under the updated FDTL rules for its A320 fleet. This relief is valid until February 10, 2026.
