Commuters faced heavy traffic disruption on Friday morning after a tanker became stuck under the height-restriction barrier at the entry of the Shaheed Gowari Adivasi Flyover. The incident took place around 7.30 am when a tanker coming from Chandrapur attempted to climb the flyover despite clear prohibitions on the movement of heavy vehicles.

The vehicle got jammed under the barrier, throwing traffic out of gear during the peak morning rush. Officials confirmed that the tanker was empty at the time. Sources added that the same vehicle had previously carried petrol, which could have resulted in a major disaster had it still been filled.
Second Similar Incident Reported on Friday
In the early hours of Friday, December 12, a similar violation occurred when another truck collided with the height barrier at the same location. The back-to-back incidents have raised concerns over recurring violations despite the presence of warning signage and height-control structures.
Flyover Equipped With Height Restrictions
The Shaheed Gowari Adivasi Flyover is fitted with height-limitation bars specifically to keep trucks and tankers off the elevated stretch. However, authorities say repeated attempts by drivers to bypass the restriction have led to multiple such disruptions.
Police teams promptly cleared the obstruction from the morning incident and restored vehicular movement.
