Actor Agastya Nanda is set to make a special appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 amid promotions for his upcoming war drama Ikkis, based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The episode will be a family affair, with his mother Shweta Bachchan and sister Navya Naveli Nanda joining him on the show.
During the episode, as Agastya took the hot seat, an audience member posed a light-hearted yet tricky question, asking him to choose between his grandparents — nana or nani. Visibly caught off guard, Agastya laughed and attempted to dodge the question, calling it “very difficult” and requesting to move on. However, host Amitabh Bachchan intervened, encouraging him to answer as everyone was eager to know.
As Agastya hesitated, Jaideep Ahlawat, also present on the show, added a humorous twist, joking that choosing nani could lead to trouble in the vanity van, while choosing nana might land him in trouble at home, drawing laughter from the audience.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan turned emotional as he shared a heartfelt review of Ikkis in the early hours of Tuesday. Recalling moments from Agastya’s birth to his decision to pursue acting, Bachchan wrote about the deep emotions he experienced watching his grandson on screen. He described memories of holding Agastya as a newborn, watching him grow, and finally seeing him perform in a film, saying he could not take his eyes off him whenever he appeared on screen.
Concluding his note, Amitabh Bachchan lauded the writing and direction of Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan.
Ikkis is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and centres on the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. The film’s title reflects the age at which Khetarpal attained martyrdom.
