Flight operations at Nagpur airport remained under pressure on Sunday as cold weather and dense fog continued to affect air traffic, resulting in delays across several routes. While the disruption caused by IndiGo earlier this month has largely eased, current delays are being attributed primarily to poor visibility conditions.
Compared to the previous few days, the number of affected flights was slightly lower on Sunday. However, passengers continued to face inconvenience, particularly on the Delhi sector, though no flight cancellations were reported, offering some relief to travellers.
Morning arrivals from Delhi were largely on time, but worsening fog conditions in the afternoon began impacting flight schedules. Three Delhi-bound flights were delayed. IndiGo flight 6E 6696, operating from Delhi to Nagpur in the evening, arrived nearly one-and-a-half hours behind schedule, while the return service, flight 6E 6697 from Nagpur to Delhi, was delayed by about an hour.
Similar delays were reported on the Nagpur–Mumbai and Nagpur–Indore sectors. Air India services on the Nagpur–Delhi route were also affected. Flight AI 415, flying from Delhi to Nagpur, departed more than two hours late and reached Nagpur at 10.22 am instead of the scheduled 8.05 am. The return flight, AI 416, departed Nagpur at 10.50 am against its scheduled departure of 8.40 am and arrived in Delhi at 12.37 pm, registering a delay of over an hour.
Meanwhile, Air India’s Mumbai–Nagpur flight AI 2583 also experienced a delay, further adding to passenger inconvenience as fog continued to disrupt winter flight operations.
