Actress and model Khushi Mukherjee recently made headlines after making a startling claim involving India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav. She alleged that the star Indian batter used to message her frequently in the past, sparking widespread discussion online.
Known for her bold fashion choices and outspoken opinions, Khushi Mukherjee has often remained in the spotlight for her candid remarks. She rose to prominence through reality shows such as Splitsvilla 10 and Love School 3, before transitioning into television with appearances in shows like Baalveer Returns. Over the years, she has also worked extensively in digital projects, music videos, and social media content, steadily building a strong fanbase.
Her distinctive style, combined with her unapologetic personality, has helped her grow a significant social media following across platforms, driven by consistent online engagement and public appearances.
‘Many Cricketers Were Behind Me’
Khushi once again grabbed attention after a video featuring her remarks went viral on social media. In the clip, she spoke about her past interactions with several cricketers, including Suryakumar Yadav. However, she was quick to clarify that there was never any romantic involvement and that she has no interest in being linked to anyone.
“Many cricketers were after me. Suryakumar Yadav used to message me a lot, but we don’t talk much now. I don’t even want to be linked, and I don’t like any link-ups. So, there really isn’t any.” Khushi told Bolo Bollywood in a video.
Despite the controversy, Khushi Mukherjee’s popularity continues to rise, largely due to her forthright nature both on and off social media. Before gaining recognition through reality television, the 29-year-old made her acting debut in the Tamil film Anjali Thurai in 2013. She later appeared in Telugu films such as Donga Prem and Heart Attack. Eventually, she shifted her focus to television and digital platforms, where she found wider visibility through reality shows, music videos, and online content.
Suryakumar Yadav on Break Ahead of Vijay Hazare Trophy
Suryakumar Yadav has not responded publicly to Khushi Mukherjee’s claims. The Indian T20I skipper is currently on a short break following India’s T20I series victory over South Africa. He is expected to return to competitive action in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in early January.
As per the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) directive, contracted players are required to participate in at least two Vijay Hazare Trophy matches during the international break. Suryakumar is likely to feature in Mumbai’s final two group-stage fixtures against Himachal Pradesh on January 6 and Punjab on January 8.
Recently, senior batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli fulfilled this requirement by representing Mumbai and Delhi, respectively. Suryakumar’s return to domestic cricket will provide him valuable match practice ahead of the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand and the T20 World Cup 2026. Meanwhile, the cricketer and his wife, Devisha Shetty, were also seen visiting the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadashi.
The forthcoming T20I series against New Zealand will serve as a crucial preparatory phase for Team India ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. It is particularly significant for Suryakumar Yadav, who endured a challenging international season, failing to score a single half-century across 22 matches. Regaining form and confidence will be vital for the Indian captain as the marquee tournament, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, approaches on February 7.
