Nagpur’s Christopher Cladious Peter has been inducted as a FIFA Assistant Referee, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced on Wednesday. The 31-year-old, who is part of the AIFF Elite Panel and the Indian Super League (ISL) Panel, has become the first referee from Nagpur to be included on the FIFA panel.
Peter became a National Referee in 2019 and has since officiated in several major tournaments, including the ISL, I-League, Santosh Trophy, Durand Cup, Kalinga Super Cup, National Games and other key AIFF events. Known for his fitness, calm approach and sound decision-making, he is regarded as one of Nagpur’s top football referees.
In addition to refereeing, Peter is an AIFF D-License Coach and has completed the AIFF Grassroots Leader Course. He has also taken part in FIFA’s technical and referee development programme (Member Association Course), which provided exposure to international standards and referee education.
Currently working as a football coach at MSB School, Peter expressed gratitude to NDFA president Haresh Vora, secretary Iqbal Kashmiri and general secretary Dr Stanley Gregory for their continued support and guidance.
