Now MIDC land allotment can be done at regional level A major change has been brought about in the indus-trial sector through a new cir cular issued by the chief ex ecutive officer (CEO) of the Maharashtra Industrial De-velopment Corporation (MIDC). Under this decision, important powers related to land plots have now been di rectly delegated to the regional offices. This decision will end the red tape for industries.
With this new circular is-sued on December 15, entre-preneurs will no longer have to frequent the headquarters for many issues. The au-thority for various tasks has now been given at the local level. This includes land trans-fer and subleasing, consoli dation and subdivision of plots, and extension of the development period, among others.
President of the MIDC In-dustries Association, P Mohan, welcomed the deci sion, stating that it will be a boon, especially for micro. small and medium enterpris es (MSMEs). The MSME sec-tor has to operate within very limited timeframes and finan cial planning. Delays in ap-provals affect the viability of the project. Now, the decen-tralization of powers will ex-pedite work and increase
transparency President of MIA P Mohan said, This is a ‘progressive decision. This change is not merely administrative; it is a major step towards ease of doing business for entrepre neurs. This will make Maha-rashtra’s industrial ecosystem more efficient and entrepre neur-friendly.”
