South East Central Railway (SECR) has announced the operation of a special train on the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Itwari–Shalimar–Itwari route from January 26 to ease passenger rush and provide confirmed berths.
Train No. 08771 Itwari–Shalimar Special will run every Monday, with services scheduled on January 26, February 2 and February 9. The train will depart from Itwari at 5.10 pm and arrive at Shalimar at 2.00 pm the following day. En route, it will halt at Gondia, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Bhatapara, Bilaspur, Champa, Raigarh, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, Kharagpur and Santragachhi.
In the return direction, Train No. 08872 Shalimar–Itwari Special will operate every Tuesday from January 27 onwards, with three trips. The train will leave Shalimar at 6.00 pm and reach Itwari at 3.35 pm the next day.
The special train will consist of two SLRD coaches, four general coaches, 11 sleeper class coaches, two AC 2-tier coaches and one AC 1-tier coach.
