Pachpaoli Police have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl over an extended period, leading to her pregnancy.
Police said the 17-year-old victim, who lives in the Mankapur police station area, became acquainted with the accused through Instagram. Despite being aware that she was underage, the accused allegedly continued to contact her and repeatedly called her to his residence.
Between January 28, 2025, and January 28, 2026, he allegedly forced physical relations with the minor on multiple occasions. The matter surfaced after the girl became pregnant, prompting her family to approach the police.
Following a complaint filed by the girl’s 50-year-old parent, Pachpaoli Police registered a case against Prajwal Raghunath Khedkar (20), a resident of Hanuman Society, Pachpaoli, Nagpur.
The accused has been booked under Section 64(2)(M) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He has been arrested, and further probe is ongoing.
