A potentially alarming situation in Nagpur’s Ram Nagar colony turned into a successful wildlife rescue on Sunday morning, thanks to the prompt action of noted wildlife rescuer Shubham G.R, president of the Wild Animals and Nature Helping Society.
Around 11 AM, residents spotted a large Indian Rock Python emerging from a house near the roadside. The unexpected sighting created panic among locals, drawing a large crowd and causing fear throughout the neighborhood.
As soon as the incident was reported, Shubham G.R rushed to the location. Demonstrating remarkable courage and professional skill, he safely rescued the python, ensuring no harm came to the reptile or the surrounding residents. Following standard wildlife protocols, the snake was later released into its natural forest habitat.
The Indian Rock Python, a non-venomous and protected species under Indian wildlife laws, is vital for ecological balance. Timely intervention by trained wildlife rescuers prevents unnecessary harm to these animals and helps reduce human-wildlife conflict.
