Actress Padmini Kolhapure and Singer Suresh Wadkar to grace the event
With the objective of providing entertainment to senior citizens, fostering positivity among them, making their lives joyful, and encouraging their active participation in social service, the Khasdar Jyeshtha Nagrik Sanskritik Mahotsav is organized every year based on the vision of Union Minister Honble Shri. Nitin Gadkari and senior leader Honble Shri. Datta Meghe.
Organised by the Jyeshtha Nagrik Pratishthan, this year marks the fourth edition of the festival. In previous years, several eminent personalities have participated in the festival, including veteran film director Rajdutt, actors Jeetendra and Mithun Chakraborty, lyricist Sameer, singers Nitin Mukesh, Shiva Choudhary and Anup Jalota, actress Vandana Gupte, and actor Shekhar Sen.

This year’s festival will be held on February 14 and 15 at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Reshimbagh. On Saturday, February 14, at 10:30 a.m., the festival will be inaugurated by renowned actress Padmini Kolhapure, who has left a distinct mark in Hindi and Marathi cinema and is a three-time Filmfare Award winner. The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by Union Minister Honble Shri. Nitin Gadkari, while senior leader Honble Shri. Datta Meghe will be prominently present.
Following the inaugural session, a melodious light music performance will be presented by PadmaShri awardee and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award winning singer Suresh Wadkar. This information was shared by Dattaji Meghe, Executive President, Jyeshtha Nagrik Pratishthan, during a press conference.
On Sunday, February 15, at 10:30 a.m., the highly popular marathi programme “Ayushyavar Bolu Kahi” by renowned poet, lyricist and composer duo Salil Kulkarni and Sandeep Khare will be presented. The programme will also be attended by well-known Marathi actress, writer and social activist Nishigandha Wad.
In addition, during this two-day festival, senior citizens who have made outstanding contributions in various fields and played a significant role in social development will be felicitated.
Entry to the festival is free, however passes are mandatory. Free passes can be collected between 12 noon and 4 p.m. from the Suresh Bhat Auditorium, the Jyeshtha Nagrik Pratishthan office, and Nitin Gadkari Jan Sampark Karyalaya.
Jyeshtha Nagrik Pratishthan Executive President Dattaji Meghe, along with all trustees, has appealed to senior citizens as well as the general public to attend and enjoy the festival.
