To fix the flawed landing design of the Sadar Flyover towards Kasturchand Park, MahaMetro has prepared a revised plan in 2026, replacing the earlier design finalised in 2025. In the original proposal, the link bridge was to begin near Liberty Theatre, pass through LIC Chowk, and land inside KP Ground.Under the new proposal, the bridge will run along the boundary wall of KP Ground and, with only four pillars placed about 90 metres apart, will cross RBI Square and land on Morris College land near a petrol pump. This arrangement will allow vehicles to descend only from the Sadar side towards Morris College. The existing ramp leading towards KP Ground will continue to serve traffic heading to Old Katol Naka Chowk and Mankapur. The first design, prepared in August 2025, required acquisition of a large stretch of land between LIC Chowk and RBI Chowk within KP Ground. The revised plan will need significantly less land. The redesign has been discussed extensively as the current Sadar Flyover, instead of easing congestion, has made movement from RBI Chowk to the KP Ground Metro Station more difficult.Motorists often spend 20–25 minutes crossing the RBI Square signal. The proposed bridge aims to reduce this delay, and authorities are proceeding cautiously to ensure the new structure does not create fresh traffic issues. Earlier, there was uncertainty over which agency would construct the link bridge, but in September 2025 it was decided that Maha Metro would execute the project.
