The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results will now be declared on February 16, instead of the earlier tentative date of February 12 mentioned in the information bulletin.
Candidates will be able to download their scorecards and check cut-off details on the official websites — nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in — once the results are released.
The objection window for the provisional answer key closed on February 6. After reviewing the challenges submitted by candidates, the NTA will publish the final answer key, followed by the declaration of results.
JEE Main 2026 scores will be used for admissions to undergraduate programmes including BE/BTech, BArch, and BPlanning at participating government and private institutions across India. The scores and merit lists may also be utilised by other central and state government bodies, subject to their respective eligibility criteria.
Session 1 of the examination was conducted in computer-based mode from January 21 to January 29 in two shifts — 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. The BE/BTech papers were held between January 21 and January 28. Students and subject experts described the overall difficulty level as moderate, with some variation across shifts.
Last year, the January session results were declared on February 11, 2025. The 2025 examination was held from January 22 to January 30, and 12 questions were dropped from the final answer key.
The NTA has reiterated that there will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of results, and requests in this regard will not be entertained.
