Kohrra returns for a gripping second season on Netflix, with Barun Sobti and Mona Singh leading the charge once again. Set against a new backdrop and driven by a fresh investigation, the Punjabi-language thriller dives deeper into trauma, guilt and buried secrets. At the heart of it all lies one haunting question in Dalerpura: Who killed Preet Bajwa?
In Season 2, Sobti reprises his role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi, who has now moved on from Jagrana. He teams up with Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur (Mona Singh) to probe the murder of a young NRI woman whose death rattles the entire town.
Kohrra Season 2 plot
Preet Bajwa, played by Pooja Bhamrah, returns from California after separating from her husband, Tarsem aka Sam (Rannvijay Singha). She begins living with her widowed mother and brother, Baljinder Atwal. When her body is found inside a barn, suspicion spreads quickly.
Sam becomes the immediate suspect, especially since Preet was involved with Johnny Malang, a man who owed him money. Meanwhile, tensions simmer within the Atwal household, as Baljinder struggles with marital discord involving his wife Twinkle and her brother Karamjot.
As Garundi and Dhanwant dig deeper, a disturbing truth comes to light. A fire at Baljinder’s poultry farm reveals that several indentured labourers had been chained inside, left to die. The Atwal family’s dark dealings begin to unravel. Though Baljinder claims innocence, he is arrested for his role in the labourers’ deaths.
Kohrra Season 2 ending
Just when the case appears to be solved, Twinkle makes a shocking confession. She admits she had instructed her brother’s associate, Pamma, to murder Preet in order to secure property rights for her daughters. However, she reveals that by the time Pamma reached the barn, Preet was already
dead.
The final revelation comes through Arun, a young man from Jharkhand searching for his missing father, Rakesh Kumar. Arun believes his father perished in the poultry farm fire. In truth, Rakesh had been released days before the blaze but was psychologically shattered after years of captivity. He returned to the Atwal property and locked himself inside the barn.
Driven by rage, Arun kills the agent who once arranged his father’s job. Father and son eventually reunite in prison — broken by circumstance, yet bound together.
Meanwhile, Sam prepares to leave for California, hoping to move past the chaos.
Who killed Preet Bajwa?
In the final episode, Preet encounters Rakesh inside the barn and recognises him as a former worker. She urges him to leave, telling him he is finally free. Overwhelmed and mentally unstable, Rakesh suddenly grabs her by the throat. In a split-second shift, he releases her. As Preet stumbles backwards, she accidentally impales herself on a sickle, leading to her death.
Garundi and Dhanwant’s emotional closure
Running parallel to the investigation is Garundi’s personal turmoil. His marriage to Silky collapses after it is revealed that his sister-in-law Rajji is carrying his child. The brothers clash before eventually reconciling. Rajji goes into labour, and in time, Silky returns, reassured of Garundi’s love and commitment.
Dhanwant, still grieving the loss of her son Nihaal and battling the strain of her alcoholic husband Jaggi, also finds a measure of peace. With the case closed, she turns her focus toward rebuilding her fractured marriage and confronting her pain head-on.
