A major accident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Mulund West after a portion of a cement structure from an under-construction metro pillar collapsed onto a passing autorickshaw.
The incident took place near the premises of Johnson & Johnson on LBS Road. According to preliminary information, authorities received an alert about the accident around 12:20 pm.
Three to four persons travelling in the autorickshaw are feared injured. However, detailed information about their condition is still awaited.
Following the incident, teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, local police, metro authorities, ward officials and the 108 ambulance service rushed to the site. Rescue and relief operations are currently in progress.
