The Maharashtra Government plans to demolish around 110 structures, including shops and roadside eateries, between Chinchbhuvan and Khapri on the Nagpur–Wardha Road for widening National Highway 44 into an eight-lane stretch.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced this while speaking to mediapersons after a review meeting of the MIHAN project held on Friday.
He said that under the MIHAN rehabilitation scheme, compensation has already been distributed to all affected shop and dhaba owners. In addition, the government plans to build a commercial complex along the same road stretch to rehabilitate them.
During the meeting, Bawankule also stated that the State Government has so far distributed ₹781.59 crore and handed over land allotment documents to project-affected families from Khapri (Railway), Telhara, Dahegaon and Kalkuhi villages under the rehabilitation scheme.
