A tragic accident was reported at the Ved Infrastructure Building in Ajni after a 30-year-old unidentified labourer died following a fall from the fourth floor of the structure on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place around 2 pm on February 13 at Plot No. 403, Empress Mill Society, Srinagar, within the jurisdiction of Ajni Police Station. According to preliminary police information, the man had approached a contractor at the site in search of employment. He was reportedly assigned cleaning work on the fourth floor of the under-construction building.
During the course of the work, the labourer allegedly lost his footing and plunged to the ground from the fourth floor, suffering severe injuries. He was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
Following information provided by complainant Aniket Bandev Rathod (35), a resident near Dayanand Park in Jaripatka, Ajni Police registered an accidental death report. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Pushpanjali Jambhale is probing the circumstances that led to the fatal fall.
