The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has taken action against a wave of fraudulent recruitment advertisements circulating on social media. These ads falsely claim that 100 positions for ‘Printer Operators and Document Scanners’ are available within the corporation, prompting officials to file a complaint at the Sadar police station.
According to municipal authorities, the deceptive posts suggest that ten individuals will be hired in each zone. Two phone numbers are provided in these ads, misleading young job seekers into believing they can apply via call or text.
But officials stress there’s no need to contact anyone for recruitment through those numbers. “The recruitment process is transparent,” said Rajkumar Meshram, Assistant Commissioner in charge of the General Administration Department. “All official announcements are made on our website.” He emphasized that interested candidates should only refer to https://www.nmcnagpur.gov.in for accurate information regarding employment opportunities.
The local administration has urged youths not to fall victim to these scams and reminded them that any legitimate recruitment advertisements would always appear on their official website.
After discovering this malpractice, Meshram acted swiftly by lodging a formal complaint with law enforcement. He called for immediate legal repercussions against those responsible for these fraudulent advertisements.
