A 20-year-old construction worker died after falling from the 11th floor of Anjani Exotica building in MIHAN, following which Sonegaon Police Station registered a case against the contractor for alleged negligence.The deceased, Lavkush Badri Nishad, a native of Siddharth Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh, was working as a mason and residing at the construction site. On January 30, 2026, around 4 pm, he reportedly went to the 11th floor to operate a water valve when he lost balance and plunged to the ground. He was rushed to AIIMS Nagpur, where doctors declared him dead.Initially recorded as an accidental death, the case took a turn after his wife, Krishna Nishad (23), alleged that contractor Munnalal Sahasram Gautam failed to provide mandatory safety equipment, nets, or protective grills. Based on her complaint, police registered an offence under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
