Nagpur: In a major crackdown ahead of Holi, the Crime Branch’s Vehicle Theft Prevention Unit seized illegal liquor worth ₹6,25,996 from a car in the Ganeshpeth area and arrested one accused while his key supplier remains on the run. Acting on reliable intelligence, the police team laid a trap near the Ganeshpeth Bus Depot Workshop and intercepted a black Volkswagen Vento (MH 05 AS 8927). During questioning, the driver identified himself as Ashish Ishwar Kamble (36), a resident of Wadner, Hinganghat.
A thorough search of the vehicle revealed 384 bottles of Royal Stag (180 ml) and 12 bottles of Bombay Special Whisky (750 ml) being transported illegally.
