In a surprise observation a wolf was seen moving with wild dogs in the Malghat Tiger Reserve in Amravati district called Dhol. The two different species of the dog family were seen together for the first time in the buffer zone of Melghat. A senor wolf was leading a pack of wild dogs, Forest Wildlife Conservator Dr Sawan Deshmukh has reported.
The two species usually avoid each other and hunt in different places. The group of wild dogs led by a wolf was seen moving peacefully together for about 40 minutes, Deshmukh has stated. The wolf was in the front and leading the pack of dogs, which is an important observation recorded by Dr Deshmukh.Dr Deshmukh will contact researchers in the field with his observations for further studies in the changes in wildlife behaviour.
