The New Kamptee Police have taken three minors into custody in connection with the killing of a 17-year-old boy near Dragon Palace in the Kamthi area on Sunday night.According to police sources, the incident occurred around 9.30 pm on March 1, 2026. The deceased, Armaan Ali (17), a resident of Kamsari Bazaar in the Cantonment locality of Kamptee, had reportedly been called by an acquaintance for a conversation. He reached the spot near Haldiram Restaurant, opposite Dragon Palace Temple, accompanied by his friend Mohit Deepak Dahat (17).Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused minors, along with the acquaintance, allegedly hatched a conspiracy and launched a sudden attack on Armaan using sharp weapons. He sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead at the scene. His friend Mohit was also assaulted and suffered serious injuries.Mohit was first rushed to the Sub-District Hospital and later referred to Mayo Hospital for specialized treatment, where he is currently undergoing medical care.Following a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Shaukat Abbas Ali (45), the New Kamptee Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pertaining to murder and criminal conspiracy. The three juveniles have been detained, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive and sequence of events leading to the fatal assault.
