On February 6, 2026, Chief Minister and Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented the Maharashtra budget for the year 2026-27. Mr. Farooq Akbani, President of the Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce, the leading and apex organization of Vidarbha’s 1.3 million traders, responded, saying that this is a balanced budget. The announcements made in this budget to promote the tourism sector and redevelop slums are welcome and will boost the state’s economy.
Chamber Vice President Swapnil Ahirkar said that the Honorable Chief Minister and Finance Minister have announced a new Nagpur and have also allocated funds for it. This is very important and welcome from the point of view of development of Vidarbha.
CA Ashwini Agarwal, Vice President of the Chamber, said that the government’s announcement in this budget to keep the fiscal deficit within the prescribed limit is a welcome initiative. Furthermore, capital expenditure has been reduced from ?1.9 trillion to ?93,000 crore, which will not be good for the economy.
Chamber Vice President Mr. Umesh Patel said that in this budget, no special announcements have been made by the state government regarding health and water supply for farmers.
Chamber CA Hemant Sarda said that this budget announced loan waivers for farmers and the continuation of the Ladli Behen Yojana. The impact of this on the state’s economy remains to be seen. An amnesty scheme for professional tax was also expected, but it was not announced in this budget. The government should pay attention to this.
Chamber Treasurer Mr. Sachin Puniani said that this time the state government has increased the road tax on vehicles, due to which the expenses of the common people will increase which may be troublesome for them.
