The Nagpur Residential Hotels Association (NRHA) has raised concern over the disruption in the supply of LPG cylinders due to the ongoing US-Iran conflict, warning that it could severely affect the hospitality sector.
NRHA President Tejinder Singh Renu said hotels, restaurants, messes and catering services depend heavily on commercial LPG for their daily operations. Any disruption in supply directly impacts the functioning of these establishments.
Renu cautioned that if the shortage continues, many eateries and restaurants may be forced to suspend operations within a week due to the unavailability of commercial LPG.
“Such a situation would also affect business travellers and tourists who rely on hospitality services during their visits,” he said, adding that it could also impact hotel occupancy levels.
While appreciating the steps being considered by the Union government, Renu urged authorities to ensure that the operational needs of the hospitality sector are met and LPG supply is restored at the earliest.
