A wide range of films and web series across languages premiered on OTT platforms between March 2 and March 8, offering viewers a mix of drama, action, mystery and romance. Streaming services including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ZEE5, Apple TV+, SunNXT and Aha Video released several new titles in Hindi, English and South Indian languages during the week.
Among the Hindi releases, ‘Hello Bachhon’ premiered on Netflix on March 6. Inspired by the real-life journey of educator Alakh Pandey, the series traces the rise of an ambitious teacher who builds a massive edtech empire while navigating the challenges of India’s competitive online education sector.
Meanwhile, action drama ‘Subedaar’, starring Anil Kapoor, debuted on Prime Video on March 5. The film follows a retired army officer struggling to adapt to civilian life who is forced to return to his combat instincts when a local mafia threatens his family and community. Another Hindi release, ‘Jab Khuli Kitaab’, written and directed by Saurabh Shukla, began streaming on ZEE5 on March 6. The emotional drama revolves around a couple married for 50 years whose peaceful retirement is shaken by a long-buried secret.
In the English category, Prime Video released ‘Young Sherlock’ on March 4. Directed by Guy Ritchie and based on novels by Andrew Lane, the series reimagines the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes as a 19-year-old student at Oxford, exploring his early adventures. Apple TV+ also launched the survival thriller ‘The Hunt’, which follows a weekend hunting trip that spirals into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
Another Prime Video release, ‘Siren’s Kiss’, is a mystery thriller about a successful art auctioneer who becomes the prime suspect in multiple fraud cases after her former lovers die under mysterious circumstances. Netflix also premiered the K-drama ‘Boyfriend On Demand’ on March 6, starring Jisoo of Blackpink, where a webtoon producer’s virtual dating experience begins affecting her real life. Meanwhile, the streaming giant has announced ‘Bloodhounds Season 2’, with actors Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi returning as the boxing duo for another action-packed season.
South Indian OTT platforms also witnessed several releases. Telugu viewers saw ‘Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi’ streaming on Aha Video from March 4, while the action-adventure drama ‘Devagudi’ debuted on SunNXT on March 3. The Telugu emotional drama ‘Charitha Kamakshi’ also arrived on ETV Win on March 5.
In Tamil and Malayalam releases, ‘Gandhi Talks’ began streaming on ZEE5 on March 6. The silent drama stars Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy and Aditi Rao Hydari, with music composed by A. R. Rahman. Prime Video also premiered ‘Jockey’, a Tamil sports action drama set in rural Madurai.
Malayalam releases on SunNXT included the psychological thriller ‘Dheeram’ starring Indrajith Sukumaran, the horror-thriller ‘Granny’, and the romantic drama ‘Dear Radhi’. Netflix also released the Tamil teen romantic comedy ‘With Love’, featuring Anaswara Rajan.
Another notable release is the courtroom drama ‘The Taj Story’, starring Paresh Rawal, which premiered on ZEE5 on March 7 and explores a controversial legal battle involving historical property rights and national heritage.
With multiple titles across genres and languages, the week’s OTT lineup offers viewers a diverse mix of entertainment choices across streaming platforms.
