The 98th Academy Awards (Oscars 2026) were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrating the year’s best achievements in cinema. One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, won Best Picture and was the biggest winner of the night with six awards. Paul Thomas Anderson received Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for the film.
In the acting categories, Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for Sinners, while Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for Hamnet. Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another, and Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for Weapons.
Other notable wins included Frankenstein for multiple design categories, F1 for Best Sound, and Avatar: Fire and Ash for Best Visual Effects. The ceremony also honoured industry legends such as Robert Redford, Diane Keaton, and Rob Reiner.
