RTM Nagpur University (RTM-NU) has decided to renovate its Purnachandra Buty Hall situated near its library in Ramdaspeth.
Once, this hall was the pride of the university, hosting all cultural and social programmes. However, the officials who served as Director Students Welfare for a long time did not pay attention to its upkeep. Now, senior Senate Member Adv Manmohan Bajpayee has proposed constructing a multi-storey building in place of the existing Buty Hall. Vice Chancellor Dr Manali Kshirsagar immediately gave consent and said that renovation work can begin initially. In fact, Rs one crore has been allocated for the renovation in RTMNU’s budget.
Adv Bajpayee pointed out, “Buty Hall is located in the heart of Nagpur city. Many have fond memories here. It has made its mark at the highest level. This building was once the centre of student politics. There is a history of student politics hidden here. A multi-storey building should be built here which can have several facilities meant for students.”
