Besa is set for a significant infrastructure boost, with ₹25 crore sanctioned for the concretisation of the Hudkeshwar stretch under the Central Road Fund by Union minister Nitin Gadkari.
The project aims to upgrade the existing tar road into a durable four-lane cement corridor, enhancing traffic flow and improving connectivity in the area.
The proposed work will cover the Matkazari–Hudkeshwar Road stretch, extending from just before the outer ring road to Hudkeshwar Khurd. Spanning roughly 1.5 km, the corridor is a key link connecting rapidly developing residential and commercial pockets in and around Besa.
According to Public Works Department (PWD) officials, the technical proposal is currently under review at the chief engineer’s office. Once approved, the project will move into the tendering stage, with construction likely to begin in the coming months.
The four-lane concretisation is expected to improve road durability, minimise maintenance requirements and ensure smoother vehicular movement.
The upgraded stretch will also help ease congestion and support the area’s growing population and real estate activity.
Officials said efforts are being made to initiate work before the monsoon so that foundational work can be completed ahead of the rains.
