In a significant move to ease documentation for students, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has decided to introduce a single, combined marksheet-cum-passing certificate for Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC).
The initiative aims to simplify the process and eliminate delays. Earlier, students received their marksheets soon after results were declared, while passing certificates were issued months later. Under the new system, both documents will be provided together in one consolidated format.
The revised document will also feature enhanced security and identity elements, making it more reliable for official purposes.
Key features of the new format include:
A single marksheet-cum-certificate
Student’s photograph printed on the document
QR code for instant digital verification via the board’s app
Access to complete academic details through the QR code
Additionally, the board is standardising the format of student names to ensure consistency across official records.
Updated name format:
Names will match the format used on Aadhaar cards
The earlier format—surname first, followed by the student’s name and father’s name—will be discontinued
This change is being seen as a step towards improved digitisation and streamlined record-keeping. For students awaiting the Maharashtra SSC and HSC Results 2026, the new system promises quicker access to a single, comprehensive document containing their academic details.
