Freelance artist Rashmi Shelwat captivated students and art enthusiasts with her live oil portrait demonstration, as her confident brushstrokes gradually brought a model’s portrait to life on canvas. Skillfully balancing light, color composition, and proportion, she created an impressive artwork that drew loud applause from the audience.
The demonstration was आयोजित as part of the second day of the annual art exhibition ‘Lok Chitrarth 2026’, organized by the Natraj Art and Cultural Center under Dharampeth Education Society. At the outset, Principal Dr. Ravindra Haridas welcomed Rashmi Shelwat. She then proceeded to create the portrait live, explaining the finer nuances of portrait painting to the gathered students.
The program was anchored by Akshay Tijare. The exhibition is being conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sadanand Chaudhary, Mouktik Kate, Pallavi Parasakar, Neha Malve, Vilas Mahajan, Prafull Bondre, and other faculty members.
The exhibition is open to all until April 3, and organizers have appealed to students, artists, and art lovers to visit in large numbers and take advantage of this artistic event.
