The ‘PET’ will remain valid for three years: this year, it will be conducted between May 9 and 12.
At Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, the PhD Entrance Test (PET) conducted for PhD admissions will now be held twice a year. Additionally, the validity of the PET will remain effective for three years after qualifying. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Manali Kshirsagar shared this important update, stating that the decision will benefit students by providing more opportunities for PhD admissions. The move is being seen as a positive step for students.
Online application process from April 10
After a gap of one year, the schedule for the PET at Nagpur University has been announced. Motiram Tadas, In-charge Director of the University’s Examination and Evaluation Board, issued a circular on April 2 declaring that the PET will be conducted between May 9 and May 12, 2026.
The online application process for the PET will begin on April 10. Notably, the university had earlier announced the PET for February 15 to 28, 2025, but registrations were halted due to technical issues. A revised timetable was later issued, and the exam was conducted on March 5, 6, and 7. Now, the PET is being conducted again after a year.
Candidates can access the online application form and related details on the university’s official website www.nagpuruniversity.ac.in from April 10, 2026.
Applicants should note that admit cards will not be sent via email and must be downloaded through the candidate login. They are also advised to carefully read “Direction No. 7 of 2026” available on the university website before applying.
