Nagpur University has vacated two floors of its examination section to make way for Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University, triggering a major internal reshuffle during the peak summer exam season.
The university has already begun shifting key operations. The spot valuation centre has been moved to the old administrative building opposite Maharajbagh, while on-screen evaluation work is being handled at the new administrative building. Officials said the remaining sections will be relocated in phases to ensure that ongoing result declarations and upcoming exams remain unaffected.
Vice-chancellor Manali Kshirsagar confirmed that the process is underway under a tight deadline. “A deadline of April 10 has been indicated, and we will see how efficiently it is completed,” she said.
LITU, which attained university status nearly three years ago, had long been seeking additional space for expansion. Since vacating the entire examination building at once was not feasible, the remaining floors will be handed over gradually without disrupting exam-related activities.
Earlier, NU had planned to secure a new building from the state government before vacating the current premises. Now, exam operations will be split between the Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative Building and the old administrative building, with interdependent sections kept together. However, due to space constraints in the old facility, the department is being shifted in stages.
University officials acknowledged that completing the full relocation by April 10 could be challenging given the ongoing examination workload.
