In a late-night crackdown, police raided a café in the Gokulpeth area for allegedly running an illegal hookah service and supplying tobacco-based flavored products to customers.
Acting on specific information, the Ambazari Police conducted the operation and registered a case against four individuals involved in the activity.According to police sources, the raid was carried out around midnight at a café located near Coffee House Square in Gokulpeth.
Authorities found arrangements for serving hookah along with tobacco-laced flavors, which are prohibited under existing regulations.During the raid, police seized hookah-related equipment including hookah pots, pipes, filters, glass containers, and various flavored tobacco substances such as orange and other variants. Additional items like trays and storage units were also confiscated.
The total value of the seized material is estimated to be around ₹9,370.Police have booked the café owner Ritesh Devdhar, along with Sarthak Babarao Pakhle, and two customers Tushar Kisan Ghadge and Piyush, under relevant provisions. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
