In line with Municipal Corporation Resolution No. 09 dated March 20, 2026, the Mayor of Nagpur has constituted a specialised Naming Committee to oversee the naming of roads and public squares across the city.
According to an official notification issued by Municipal Secretary Dr. Ranjana Lade on April 7, 2026, the committee will be chaired by Deputy Mayor Leela Hathibed. It comprises elected representatives from various prabhags to ensure broad-based city representation.
The committee will examine and verify naming proposals before forwarding them to the Municipal Corporation for final approval.Key departments, including the Chief Engineer and Superintendent Engineer, have been directed to extend administrative support for the committee’s functioning.
