Maharashtra Government has decided to open Asha Bhosle Music Academy in memory of the legendary singer Asha Bhosle who passed away on Sunday due to multi-organ failure. The Maharashtra Cabinet took the decision in its meeting held on Monday.
Asha Bhosle had demanded a piece of land for the music academy between Mumbai’s Bandra and Andheri suburbs. Directions to identify the place for establishing the music academy, which will be named after her. The decision was taken before the most versatile singer’s mortal remains were consigned to flames at Shivaji Park crematorium on Monday afternoon.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik proposed to develop a memorial in memory of Ashatai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the government is considering developing a music academy in her memory
