Passengers of an IndiGo flight to Pune faced major inconvenience after the airline cancelled the flight at the last minute, leaving more than 200 travellers stranded late Friday night at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur.
According to passengers, the flight was scheduled to depart at 11 pm, and travellers had reached the airport well in advance as per guidelines. However, even after boarding was delayed, no clear communication was provided by the airline authorities.
Initially, IndiGo staff cited an issue at Pune airport and informed passengers that the departure would be delayed by around four hours. Later, passengers were told that a fire incident at Pune airport had led to the cancellation of the flight. However, confusion persisted as there was no official clarity from the airline.
Passengers further claimed that a subsequent Pune-bound flight scheduled at 3 am was also cancelled. While the airline offered options such as refunds or rerouting via Mumbai, many travellers expressed dissatisfaction, stating that no proper or immediate alternative arrangements were made.
Several passengers, including business travellers, said the sudden cancellation disrupted their plans and caused significant inconvenience.
