Maha Metro achieved yet another significant breakthrough today, with the launch of ticketing facility on Paytm, through Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). The facility was launched at Metro Bhawan at the hands of Maha Metro MD Shri Shravan Hardikar and Shri Abhay Sharma, Chief Business Officer, Paytm.
This facility would now be available for Nagpur and Pune projects. The launch ceremony was graced by Shri Vinod Kumar Agrawal, Director (RSS), Shri Anilkumar Kokate, Director (SP), Shri Ankit Choudhary, Vice President, Paytm, Shri Sreenivas Bandari, Vice President, ONDC. Other Maha Metro officials were present during the launch of the service.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Hardikar lauded joint efforts undertaken by Maha Metro, Paytm and ONDC. This would facilitate easy selection of Metro journey for the citizens, as it would provide common platform while commuting. Maha Metro and Paytm would mutually benefit through this engagement, he added.
Shri Hardikar reminded that similar facility is available for the Pune Metro project and the same was launched there at hands of the Hon Chief Minister Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadanvis. The MD offered his best wishes to the Paytm, ONDC and Maha Metro employees and hoped that the commuters would use this facility extensively.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Abhay Sharma said, thanked Maha Metro and ONDC for the help extended in unveiling this facility. He said, while the facility has been launched, Paytm would come up with attractive offers and discount proposals in the near future. The aim is to ensure that Paytm ticketing is widely accepted, he added.
Shri Sharma also spoke about the future opportunities through ONDC integration. Just for the information, ONDC is an initiative by the Government of India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to democratize e-commerce for online sell, using open-source.
Earlier, a demonstration on ticket booking though Paytm was given, which explained the functionality and product for customer convenience and its overall customer journey and benefits.
