In view of the rising temperatures and prevailing heatwave conditions, the Nagpur District Administration has ordered a change in school timings across the district.
According to an official order issued by District Collector and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority Kumar Aashirwad the decision has been taken to safeguard the health of students as temperatures continue to soar.
As per the directive, all Anganwadi centres, as well as primary and secondary schools in Nagpur district, will now function between 7:00 AM and 10:30 AM until further orders.
The administration stated that the intense heat poses a serious risk to children’s health, prompting the preventive measure under provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
All concerned authorities, including education officials and local bodies, have been instructed to ensure strict implementation of the revised timings and to inform all schools accordingly.
