Nagpur is set to become home to a groundbreaking healthcare facility that promises to bring comprehensive multi-speciality and super-speciality services under one roof. The National Health Care Institute (NHCI), a 450-bed hospital, will be constructed on North Ambazari Road and aims to serve patients in Nagpur and surrounding areas.
The ceremony for the NHCI’s launch is scheduled for April 24 at 3:30 PM. Key figures expected at the event include RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
This project is spearheaded by Dr Aabaji Thatte Sewa Aur Anusandhan Sanstha, which previously established the National Cancer Institute in the city. According to Shailesh Joglekar, general secretary of the organization, NHCI will be on par with international healthcare facilities and will feature ultra-modern diagnostic equipment as well as highly trained super-specialists.
“We’re creating a sanctuary of wellness and healthcare in Nagpur,” Joglekar said. The institute plans to adopt a multi-disciplinary approach that focuses heavily on advanced diagnostics and multi-modal therapy.
Spanning an impressive five lakh square feet, this hospital will be the first of its kind operated by a registered charitable trust structured like a corporation. This design aims to provide affordable treatment options for all.
Leading the design efforts are Singapore-based HKS Asia Pacific Design Consulting PTE Ltd., along with principal architects M/s JJ Consultants from Mumbai and project management consultants Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd.
