The Enforcement Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) carried out a large-scale anti-encroachment drive across multiple zones of the city on Wednesday, targeting illegal roadside vendors and structures obstructing roads and Footpath.

In Dharampeth Zone No. 02, joint teams 02 and 05 conducted continuous action from the zone office to Sitabuldi Main Road, covering Variety Square and adjoining areas throughout the day. Encroachments on both sides of the road and footpaths were removed, and a significant quantity of cloth material was seized during the operation.
Similarly, in Gandhibagh Zone No. 06, joint teams 03 and 04 undertook an extensive drive covering Mahal Chowk, Badkas Chowk, Gadkariwada, Shivaji Putla, Kalyaneshwar Temple, Kelibagh Road, Ayachit Mandir and surrounding areas. Illegal stalls and roadside setups occupying public spaces were cleared during the day-long operation.
Meanwhile, in a joint action across Dharampeth Zone No. 02 and Dhantoli Zone No. 04, team 01 removed encroachments from key city stretches including VCA Ground to the Collectorate area, Civil Lines, NMC headquarters surroundings, Mominpura, Bhavan School area, Sitabuldi Metro Station, Lokmat Square, Rahate Colony and Jhansi Rani Square. Encroachments by specific establishments were completely cleared, and approximately one truckload of materials was seized.
Special action was also carried out near Rajwada Palace and Haj House in view of the ongoing Haj pilgrimage preparations, ensuring smooth movement and public convenience in the area.
