The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the launch of its specially curated 11 Nights/12 Days “Divya Dakshin Yatra” aboard the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, offering pilgrims from Nagpur and other boarding points an opportunity to explore prominent spiritual and heritage destinations across South India.
The yatra will cover key destinations including Hampi, Mysore, Coimbatore, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Tirupati and Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, combining pilgrimage, culture and heritage in a single itinerary. The package starts at ₹21,690 per person, with travel options available in Economy Sleeper (SL), Standard 3AC and Comfort 2AC classes. The specially designed composite AC/Non-AC tourist train can accommodate nearly 750 passengers.
According to Gaurav Jha, Group General Manager, IRCTC West Zone, Mumbai, the initiative aims to provide a seamless pilgrimage experience by connecting major spiritual destinations through one comprehensive package. Boarding and deboarding facilities have been provided at multiple stations including Nagpur, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Chalisgaon, Manmad, Nasik, Igatpuri, Kalyan and Pune, ensuring wide accessibility for pilgrims across the region.
The all-inclusive package includes train travel, hotel accommodation on sharing basis, vegetarian meals throughout the journey, sightseeing transfers, travel insurance and dedicated IRCTC tour managers. IRCTC officials said extensive health and safety measures have also been put in place to ensure a secure and comfortable travel experience.
Package prices have been fixed at ₹21,690 for Sleeper Class, ₹36,740 for 3AC and ₹48,730 for 2AC.Dr. A.K.
