A 72-year-old woman was died in a hit-and-run incident near Traffic Park in Dharampeth area on Saturday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Mangala Ramdas Kewate, a resident of Hansdhwani Apartments in Khare Town, Dharampeth. According to preliminary information, Kewate was reportedly hit by a speeding vehicle near Traffic Park, following which the driver fled the spot without stopping.
She sustained serious injuries in the accident and died during treatment. Police have registered a case and launched a search to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the incident. Further investigation is underway.
