In a major boost for rail passengers from Nagpur, Central Railway has announced the permanent conversion of two key Nagpur-origin trains — Nagpur–Ahmedabad Express and Nagpur–Jaipur Express — to modern LHB coaches with revised coach composition from June 2026. The upgradation is expected to improve passenger safety, comfort and travel efficiency.
Both trains will now run with a 21-coach LHB rake comprising AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, sleeper, general coaches, generator car and guard brake van. The Nagpur–Ahmedabad Express will operate with the new LHB rake from June 17, while the Nagpur–Jaipur Express will switch to the upgraded configuration from June 18 from Nagpur.
In another development benefiting Vidarbha passengers, CSMT–Ballarshah Express has also been included in the modernization drive. Railway officials said the move is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at enhancing passenger amenities and strengthening rail connectivity from Nagpur.
