Justice Mukulika Shrikant Jawalkar, a judge at the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court, has been appointed as the Presiding Officer of the College and University Tribunal of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). She will assume the new role after completing her tenure in May 2026.
The appointment has been made under Section 80 of the Maharashtra Public University Act, 2016. The position had been vacant following the end of Justice Swapna Joshi’s tenure and was under consideration by the State Government.
The Higher and Technical Education Department of Maharashtra issued a Government Resolution (GR) confirming the appointment on Monday. The decision has been welcomed in both legal and academic circles.
