Gurjar Pushpa and Bharatiya Gujarati Samaj recently organised a Vidarbha-level singing competition at Suresh Bhat Auditorium to mark the 30th anniversary of Gurjar Pushpa. The event witnessed an enthusiastic response and large attendance.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Magan Thakkar, Central Vice President of Akhil Bharatiya Gujarati Samaj, Mumbai, along with Dilip Lakhani, President of Jalaram Satsang Mandal Trust, Durg. Social workers Harendra Tanna and Dr Raksha Thakkar were also present.
A total of 30 artists participated in the competition. In the 50-60 age category, Atul Bhai Rajdev, Pravin Bhai Lotiya and Vijaybhai Thakkar were honoured with awards. In the above-60 category, Latesh Kurani won the first prize, while Bharat Mehta and Prakash Kothari secured the second and third prizes respectively.
Pranita Bonde, Yuvraj Chaudhary and Vaishali Chandpurkar served as judges for the competition. Jayprakash Malviya, Hema Raja, Manoj Thakkar, Deepaben Gantra and Jayanti Lal Raja, among others, contributed to the successful organisation of the event.
