In order to address and resolve citizens’ complaints and issues related to water bills, the Water Supply Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation has organized special grievance redressal camps on May 9 and 10 at all zone offices across the city. The camps will be conducted from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The decision follows suggestions made by members during the Standing Committee meeting regarding the need for dedicated camps to resolve pending water bill complaints. Acting on these recommendations, Standing Committee Chairperson Mrs. Shivani Dana-Wakhare directed the Water Supply Department to organize the camps.
Under the guidance of Mayor Mrs. Nita Thakre, Deputy Mayor Mrs. Leela Hathibed, Leader of the Ruling Party Mr. Narendra (Balya) Borkar, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin, Water Supply Special Committee Chairperson Mrs. Divya Dhurde, and Vice-Chairman Mr. Vijay Zhalke, the Water Supply Department has finalized the schedule for camps across all 10 zones of the city. The department has also prepared a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure smooth functioning of the grievance redressal process.
The camps will be held at Lakshminagar, Dharampeth, Hanuman Nagar, Dhantoli, Nehru Nagar, Gandhibagh, Satranjipura, Lakadganj, Ashi Nagar and Mangalwari zone offices on May 9 and 10. Senior officials from the Water Supply Department will be present at the camps to directly address and resolve citizens’ complaints regarding water bills.
Dr. Shweta Banerjee, Superintending Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, has appealed to citizens to take maximum advantage of this opportunity and attend the camps in large numbers.
