Sensation prevailed in Gadgenagar area of Nagpur after the bodies of a mother and daughter were found inside a locked house under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan Police Station. Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of death and are also probing the possibility of suicide.
The deceased have been identified as Tulsabai Madhavrao wadhai (68) and her daughter Sangeeta Madhavrao wadhai (48). According to reports, both were last seen near their residence on May 2. Since then, the house remained locked from inside despite the intense summer heat.
Their son, Nilesh, who works in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, had reportedly spoken to Tulsabai for the last time on May 2. After failing to contact them repeatedly, he informed relatives, but nobody had any information about their whereabouts.When relatives finally reached the house, they found the door locked and alerted the police.
Upon entering the house, police discovered both women lying dead inside. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, while a forensic team was also called to inspect the spot.Police said the exact reason behind the deaths is yet to be determined.
An investigation is underway to verify whether it is a case of suicide or if any other angle is involved.Notably, just a few days earlier, another mother-daughter suicide case had been reported within the Nandanvan Police Station limits.
In that incident, 52-year-old Sangeeta Shriram Dawale and her 21-year-old daughter Akanksha Lokhande Brahme had allegedly died by suicide in Vyankateshnagar. A case had also been registered against Akanksha’s husband and in-laws.
