Professor Rajendra Singh Science Exploratory successfully organized a Sky Gazing Event on the night of 25th–26th April 2026 at Swaminarayan International Gurukul. The programme aimed to provide students with practical exposure to astronomy and the wonders of the night sky.
All participating students assembled at Professor Rajendra Singh Science Exploratory at 4:00 PM and travelled to the venue in two buses along with Dr. Seema Ubale (Director), Ms. Ekta, Ms. Rani, Ms. Pranjali, and Mr. Anurag (trainers, PRSSE). Students from Spring Dale School, ERA International School, along with Gurukul students, enthusiastically participated in the programme.
The sky observation session was conducted in the open field of the Gurukul, where telescopes were installed for viewing celestial objects. Under the guidance of Professor Hemant Kumar from Himachal Pradesh, students learned about stars, constellations, nakshatras, and planetary positions. Participants observed Jupiter, its moons, the Moon, and several artificial satellites through telescopes as well as with the naked eye till dawn on April 26.
The event received support from distinguished resource persons including Dr. Mrs. Jasmir Randhawa (GOEN), Dr. Prashant Ambekar, Dr. Govind Lakhotiya, Dr. Mrs. Pranita Deshpande, Dr. Mrs. Shraddha Joshi, and Mr. Sahebrao Poradwar (all from DMPDSVM). Mr. Rahul and Mr. Ashish also actively guided the students throughout the programme.
Students remained actively engaged throughout the night and gained hands-on experience in identifying constellations and celestial bodies. The event successfully promoted scientific thinking, curiosity, and a deeper interest in astronomy among the participants.
